European citizens need a visa for Kenya. The fees are US$ 50 for a Single Entry Visa and US$ 100 for a Multiple Entry Visa. Visas are now issued online via http://evisa.go.ke/evisa.html . As the approval and issuance of the eVisa can take about minimum 7 days, travellers should therefore apply for their visa early. You will not receive an automatic notification when your eVisa has been created. You should therefore log back in regularly to check this and then print out your eVisa.

Please note that visas are only valid for 90 days until entry. Therefore do not apply too early and not too late.

You will get the visa for easy entry:

To enter the country, you will need a printout of your eVisa and a passport valid for at least six months after the end of the trip. Each child needs its own identity document. For nationals of other nationalities, different passport and visa requirements may apply. Please enquire at the respective embassy. For travellers who also travel to Kenya, Uganda and/or Rwanda, it is also possible to apply for the common East Africa visa of these three countries. It entitles to multiple entry to Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda within 90 days. The cost for this is US$ 90. Without a work permit no visitor is allowed to work or settle in Kenya. This requires the approval of the Principal Immigration Office. For East Africa, a Flying Doctor insurance policy, which includes a rescue flight to the hospital in the event of a medical emergency, is strongly recommended. Please check whether this insurance is included in your international health insurance. The Flying Doctor service costs between 25 and 50 US$, depending on the duration and the area, and can be included in the booking if desired. A valid vaccination against yellow fever is required for all travellers older than 1 year of age entering from a yellow fever area. For entries from Europe, this is not required, but recommended. The above information is subject to change without notice. Please refer to the information provided by your Federal Foreign Office for changes as a matter of urgency. Please contact the relevant embassies prior to booking or departure.
