Good safari expérience as a woman solo traveller As a solo french woman, I went on safari at the beginning of January with Marco Polo Safari in front of my Neptune hôtel.
About my experience :
Elijah was a super driver with good interactions and easy to talk , also safe drive and protective, I really appreciate having him as a guide.
For the safari, at least its a lottery and unfortunelly it wasnt full of animals like I could expect but it was ok. I understand that's the game and I m already feel lucky and grateful to saw éléphants, buffalos, girafes, zebras, and quickly quickly one lion. 😁 Good experience !

Great safari with knowledgable guide This was originally a booking to travel in 2020 and had to be postponed due to Covid. Rising cost of airfares and airline cancellations meant I had to make several changes. Marco Polo were very prompt in responding and flexible which was so helpful. The safari itself was amazing. We saw elephants, zebras, gazelles, giraffes, hippos, monkeys, lions, buffalo, crocodiles, warthogs and more. Our guide was informative with 20 years of experience under his belt. Both accommodations were good, clean, offered good food and viewing areas for the wildlife. We stayed at Sentrim Tsavo Camp and Kilaguni Serena Lodge. Kilaguni was definitely my favourite out of the 2. We had the best view at breakfast watching the animals. It was unforgettable! The jeep was in good condition and I wouldn't hesitate to book with Marco Polo again. We enjoyed Tsavo East and West this time. I'd love to go back and see Maasai Mara next time. Amazing trip! Safari wasan amazing experience. Everything was very well prepared, views were breathtaking and seeing wildlife was spectacular. I especially recommend Masai Mara, Nakuru and Tsavo West. Our driver, Michael Kimeu, was the best-very friendly, very knowledgeable, great spotter of animals, very flexible to accommodate our request. It was a great time and I recommend it to everyone!

Tsavo East/Tahita Hills safari/Wasini island tour Amazing! This is a must-do experience and Marco was at our disposal while choosing which was the best option for us for the safari. We went with Michael and he was very nice! Maybe we would have liked to have more information during the safari about the animals and nature but he was alone and he tried really hard to let us view all the animals so we are really thankful! Probably we weren't very lucky because we didn't see all of the animals present on the parks but still it is an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend Marco Polo Safaris. The jeep was super comfortable (which is important), the lodges very nice as well as the views there 🤩
I would also suggest the Wasini island tour if you are staying at Diani beach. They showed us a poor village on the island and we saw the dolphins, therefore a nice day at sea while also getting to learn more about the local reality.

2 days in Tsavo East with all the beautiful small and big friends! I’ve just returned from my second safari with Marco Polo Safaris, and once again it was a truly memorable experience. This time I booked a 2-day safari to Tsavo East, and I traveled alone, which turned out to be the best decision. Going solo meant I could fully focus on the animals I’m most excited about, take my time, and enjoy every moment without rushing.

My guide, Mike, was outstanding. He’s calm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, but what impressed me most is his eye for wildlife. He notices movement and details in the landscape that most people would completely miss. From the very beginning, it felt like I was with someone who genuinely loves what he does.

The safari kicked off with a spotted owl, and from that moment birds became the highlight of the trip. We spotted an amazing variety: big and small birds, plus many different birds of prey. If you’re a bird lover (or even if you think you aren’t), this experience might convert you.

My absolute favorite memory was seeing mongooses jumping around on a termite mound — it was one of those simple, joyful wildlife moments you don’t forget. And it reminded me of something important: safari isn’t only about ticking off the Big Five. It’s about admiring every creature, from the smallest animals to the iconic ones, and taking in the stunning landscapes that make the whole experience feel special.

A big thank to Marco, as always, who helped me plan the safari ahead of time. The communication was smooth, the advice was helpful, and the patience and support made everything stress-free. And Mike, thank you for the laughs, the great company, and all the incredible sightings (even outside the park!). I’d absolutely recommend Marco Polo Safaris and would happily book again.

Marco Polo for your Tsavo game drive adventure! The only one to do a one day trip. It was a great adventure! The way to the parc in the morning is an adventure at it self. With the morning traffic. Pius was not only a great driver, he also was a great wild-spotter.
